Why
no response when I register?
We
prefer job applications via our online form on our web page: part of our QA/QC process to protect your privacy and to
eliminate virus risks.
You
can paste your resume into the skills summary area when
you register online; you will then receive a confirmation email that your
registration was successful.
Why
are you different from an employment agency?
Work
Offshore - Asia Pacific is an oil & gas service company, we are not
an employment agency: our business is providing manpower planning,
in-house and onsite recruitment services to companies and projects.
Many
companies now prefer to hire direct: for cost reasons their policy is to
not to accept resumes from employment agencies.
For
this reason our
service is independent: we have designed our service to overcome this
common barrier to employment.
We
make
direct hire possible: this means we can offers
job seekers and employers a single source solution: each can negotiate a hiring solution
that is acceptable to both
parties.
Why
am I being rejected by employers?
Over
60% of all resumes received by Fortune 500 companies are rejected within
the first minute; input from our clients HR divisions and our own industry research indicates
this is a major problem.
Most
job applicants fail to follow employer requests regarding applications: resume
format, contact details etc, this is now wasting an increasing amount of
employers resources.
How
can you stop being rejected: start by redesigning your resume for
online applications, your existing resume may not survive beyond the
first 30 seconds of an initial electronic interview. see

Do
I need to send in my resume for each job?
Every
applicant registered is matched by their skills and experience each day
against our latest company,
project and agency vacancies.
Large
time zones differences can mean our vacancies section may differ
from actual jobs available: our vacancy database is updated hourly, 24
hours a day, 7 days a week.
You
only need to register once: when your skills match your resume is
sent to employers with your full contact details.
There
are limits to our service: we
cannot guarantee employers will respond to your application.
What
if the employer has an in-house agency?
Major
companies may prefer to use
their
own in-house recruitment agency, or alternatively use an exclusive master vendor or
preferred agency agreement.
You
can now access
to these hidden job opportunities: jobs often denied to agencies
operating outside
these agreements.
Our
major advantages is no daily or hourly agency cost; plus our flexibility; we
normally
have no restriction
on submitting resumes.
Do
agencies limit my opportunities?
Not
at all; any reputable agency will assist you to find work, in fact when
it is in our subscribers best interests we will always recommend they
use an
agency.
For
example the reason may be the agents local knowledge, or instant access to
visas at short notice, or the agency has a master vendor or preferred
supplier agreement with a particular employer.
Our service
submits
your resume to these agencies; our decision to include this option means
we deliver more job
opportunities.
Why
should I pay for resume advice?
Employment
agencies,
companies or project managers are committed to hiring the best
available applicants;.
You
are responsible for your resume: no hiring manager can
afford to waste time advising you on how to fix your resume.
Ask
your accountant or stockbroker to give away their time: both always
charge you a fee for their time spent helping you make money.
Why
the cost?
Our
service is designed to give people individual assistance; our premium subscribers gain
access to contacts used for our consulting services to our corporate clients.
Money
spent on
research is a career investment; if you do not have the right
information to find work then paying professionals to help is your only
real alternative.
We
are in the knowledge business; we have a team of researchers, constantly
updating project information
daily, we also subscribe to many oil & gas information sources, this is
expensive.
What
guarantee do you offer?
We
cannot guarantee everyone a job; we can certainly assist many people
without the resources required to find work.
By
using our
extensive employer network in addition to delivering quality
assured applications our methods eliminate the most common reasons for
rejection by employers.
Can
using do-it-yourself methods work?
Yes,
absolutely, but you need to commit to investing some time & money to
be competitive; first we
suggest you get your current resume reviewed by a person with HR or
project management experience.
There
are limits on writing your own resume; if you do not really understand
key words, have no previous recruitment experience or lack the
facilities required to test or benchmark each revision then you do increase the risk of rejection.
What
are current industry rates?
This
depends entirely on the employer, job specification, location,
conditions, benefits etc, there are too many variables for us to answer
this correctly as a general question.
However
for
example day rates in the oil business start at US$200, with higher
rates exceeding US$1000 or more per day.
What
are the major advantages of your service?
Definitely
our no agency cost policy to employers; being independent means we can deliver
resumes to 100% of all job vacancies.
As
an independent recruitment consultant
we are a single source supplier: we provide a full service alternative
to job applicants being able to respond to all companies, projects &
agencies vacancies.
We
save employers time and money; they gain immediate access to quality
skilled applicants without the normal agency cost.
What
is your recruitment experience?
Our senior management people
we hired for their expertise: all have over twenty years experience
recruiting technical people.
We
understand the oil & gas business, we also understand the many difficulties
all applicants now face keeping up with changes in today’s global job market.
Who
uses your service?
First
time job seekers in the oil & gas industry; people who lack those vital
personal contacts have no project experience.
Most
of our premium clients are expatriate engineers working offshore; they
all understand how the oil & gas industry works, for the need to keep building their personal job network.
Skilled
migrants: people
seeking to immigrate or others who need sponsorship to fast track a visa application,
we can often assist to reduce waiting periods.
What
if I have an existing relationship with an agency?
This
is not even a problem; our task is to get you the right job, you can nominate
any agency if you wish, this is always subject to the employer's
approval.
Our
service eliminates many hiring restrictions; both you and the employer now
have a choice, direct hire, in-house, master vendor, preferred agency
agreement.
Do
you only operate in the Asia Pacific region?
We
operate
globally: but in the Asia Pacific we have excellent local contacts, plus
knowledge in the oil & gas industry accumulated over 20 years.
We
do source people for companies with operations in Africa, Middle-East,
Russia, South America even Houston & Aberdeen but we are really
concentrating on the opportunities now available the Asia-Pacific
region.
